According to the I.G.I., Philly Jewell was the sixth child of Mathias Jewell and Elizabeth Moyle, and was baptised on the 3rd September 1780, in the Parish of Wendron.
A further search of the I.G.I., has found only 1 possible marriage involving Philly. On the 3rd of August 1815, in the Parish of Lanivet, Cornwall, a Philly Jewell married William Stodden. Whilst looking through the I.G.I., I discovered that the name Philly was very unusual. In fact I only found 1 record of a Philly being baptised, and only 1 marriage involving Philly. In view of this it does seem likely that this marriage did involve "my" Philly.
I should also mention that the Parish of Lanivet, is not near the Parish of Wendron, which does throw some doubt on my claim. Hopefully future research will determine if the marriage I mentioned above did involve "my" Philly. In the meantime if anyone has anymore information about Philly, or you feel you may be one of her descendants, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
